If you’re looking for a surreal, one-of-a-kind dining experience, you should consider immersing yourself into the miniature culinary world of “Le Petit Chef” currently operating at the Ritz-Carlton in downtown Los Angeles. Conceived in Belgium in 2015 and demonstrated in restaurants around the world, the posh 5-course dinner service utilizes cutting-edge 3D mapping technology to project digital animation directly onto your plate and table. A spiritual cousin to Disney’s Ratatouille, the storyline features “the smallest chef in the world” and his personal exploits detailing with the fundamentals of cooking, art, & life itself. All of this is precisely interwoven with the presentation of each of your courses. The whole experience is certainly whimsical and the animation is obviously the star of dinner service, more so than the food (to be fair). But I can truly say that it's an activity like none other if you’re willing to splurge and give it a try.
