Candlelight Concerts by FEVER

Candlelight Concerts by FEVER

DETAILS:

  • Location: varies by concert.

    • The Candlelight Concert we attended was hosted within Immanuel Presbyterian Church in Koreatown.

  • Hours of Operation: Please check Fever’s website below (under “resources”) for current schedule of Candlelight Concert Events and to purchase tickets.

  • Parking: Varies based on location. If it’s like the concert we attended, it’s a safe bet to assume that you’ll need to pay for parking (either metered or a parking lot).

  • Cost: Tickets range from $35 to $50 based on proximity to the stage. But these events are pretty intimate so there really isn’t a bad seat in any venue.

  • Time Commitment: The concert we attended was just shy of 90 minutes.

  • MISC:

    • During the concert we attended (June 25th 2021), masks were still required for the duration of the concert.

In an age of high-tech wizardry meant to dazzle your senses, sometimes going old-school is a refreshing and novel change of pace. Case in point, Fever’s Candlelight Concert Series. String quartets (or quintet as was the case in the concert we attended) have been entertaining audiences around the world for centuries. The harmonies that are evoked are equal parts elegant and hypnotic. Couple that with a picturesque location lit by hundreds of (faux) candlelights (hence the name of the concert series) and you have an event that is truly stunning both audibly and visually.

Each of Fever’s Candlelight Concerts highlight a particular genre or composer, but I highly recommend any of their Hollywood film concerts that feature some of the most beloved movie scores of all time. It’s an amazing experience to hear these iconic melodies in this new context and I guarantee you’ll get a goosebump or two throughout the performance. Our concert was conducted by the Metropolis Chamber Musicians Quintet and included selections from Indiana Jones, LaLaLand, Coco, Harry Potter, and of course, Star Wars. If you’ve ever had the fortune of attending the long-running “John Williams; Maestro of the Movies” concerts at the Hollywood Bowl, then this is definitely right up your alley and will not disappoint.
